The young Roman Empire needs many things, but what the large towns need most of all is drinking water. Players have to act as building principals and enlist the help of experienced master builders and workmen to build unique water supply lines: the Roman Aquaducts. The longest aquaducts win the greatest praise so players need to show skillful planning to achieve success and win the game.
The Games review Unique game play, fun, and easy to learn. Aqua Romana is a great addition to the book/games shelf. It is just as good with 2, 3, or 4 players. There are no dice or cards so it comes down to a players skill, yet in saying that you can't always have it your way as others players actions will effect you plans. I enjoyed Aqua Romana for its simplicity and its 'lack of luck' factor. Its scoring system can be a little frustrating but its during-the-game fun easily makes up for it. We recommend this game for playing with people who want to get stuck into a game but don't want it to take all night, and who don't want to spend half the time allocated to game playing explaining the rules. ENJOY. - Sam
